The
weather cooperated and we had a very pleasant day to clean up our section of
Highway 21 west of Discovery Park to Diversion Dam. Nothing unusual was found this year but our two key clubbers
from Bishop Kelly put in some extra effort to clean up a section which
included pieces of cinder blocks and scraps of wood. We had a total of 10
people work on this activity and collected 12 bags of trash. The total hours
worked by the volunteers amounted to 20 hours.
Volunteers were the following: Joan and Chelsea from BK, Bill Homan and his
son Jordan, Cordell and his son Joe, Cliff Sell, Andy Simon, Alan Lynch and
George Weissbeck. We had lunch at the Crow Inn and watched some of the BSU
game after the clean up.
Thanks to all that helped with our Club’s commitment to keep the highway
clean! And a special thanks to George Weissbeck for arranging to have the
Ada County Sheriff patrol the area for added safety.
